CARACAS – LIMA – CUSCO – MACHU PICHU – LOS ROQUES ARCHIPIELAGO

Day 1. Lima
Welcome to Lima's “City of Kings”. You will be met at the airport and privately escorted to your hotel.
Day 2. Lima (B)
In the morning, a city tour of Lima. The city has always been one of the most important cities in South America since it was founded by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro in 1535. Your sightseeing tour explores the historic quarter and modern districts of the city: the main square with beautiful buildings.
The Government Palace, the City Hall, the Palace of the Archbishop, and the Cathedral are still the most important places in town. You continue on to the most popular plaza: Plaza San Martin. Your tour ends in the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores at the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Overnight.
Day 3. Lima – Cusco (B)
Transfer from hotel to the airport. A flight brings you to the Inca capital of Cusco where Quechua-speaking descendants of the Incas move back and forth in the busy plazas and markets. Arrival and meeting at the airport in Cusco and transfer to the hotel.
Rest of the morning at leisure for your acclimatization to the altitude. Our comprehensive afternoon tour includes the beautiful church of Santo Domingo, the Cathedral, and Quenqo, believed to have been an important sanctuary during the Inca period.
This is followed by a visit to Puca Pucara, a strategically located "red fortress" that dominates the entire area before visiting Tambomachay, with its two distinctive aqueducts.
Afterward, we head off to the hillside above Cusco to visit the mighty Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman. When the Spaniards first arrived in 1533 they were overawed by its monumental walls some weighing up to 10 tons.
Day 4: Cusco – Machu Picchu - Cusco (B)
Morning transfer to the train station in the Sacred Valley. A 1 hour and 45 minutes train ride train takes you through the Sacred Valley of the Incas up to Machu Picchu. On arrival, a small coach takes you up the steep roads to the entrance of the citadel. Machu Picchu remained for centuries undiscovered by the Spaniards, only to be found in 1911 by Hiram Bingham.
The uniqueness of its location and the genius that went into its construction make this Inca archaeological site truly one of the great wonders of the world.
A well-deserved buffet lunch will be served at “Totos House Restaurant” located at Aguas Calientes closed to the train station. In the afternoon you will return through the mountainous switchback passes to Cusco, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 5. Cusco – Lima – Caracas (B)
Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Caracas. Arrival to Maiquetia International Airport. Transfer to the Caracas littoral. Overnight in front of the sea
Day 6: Caracas – Los Roques Archipelago (BD)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Flight Caracas - Los Roques. Overfly this wonderful aquatic paradise and observe the archipelago's formation and expansion from the sky. To whoever approaches Los Roques by air, the map of the sea will reveal itself suddenly, bathed by tropical lights.
You will be able to observe the islands that were once discovered by the conquerors' ships y that was discovered by the Pirates of the Caribbean: the very same blinding white sand, the intense blues of the sky, and the sea stroked by a thousand greens, always transparent and brilliant, incredibly smooth...This is Los Roques! A National Park away from the crowded beaches and the ruckus.
There are no hotels, cars, or big shops; only picturesque little posadas with few rooms and the expansive sea. Time stops, contamination is inexistent and you will feel free. But the true treasure of Los Roques lies at the bottom of the sea. Its coral reefs house thousands of species in a spectacularly beautiful and delicate submarine universe. Fans of snorkeling and diving will find paradise, and stressed-out executives will find relaxation... Transfer from the lands trip to the Posada.
Accommodation. Sail in a small typical ship to the cays close to the archipelago. Picnic-like lunch at the beach. During the evening, return to the posada. Have some free time to relax and delight yourself with this natural landscape, visit the town on foot and learn a little about the simple and relaxed life of the locals. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7 – 8 – 9: Los Roques (BLD)
After breakfast, you will be taken to another beautiful little key of crystal clear waters and white sands. Enjoy a good relaxing day on these marvelous beaches. Lunch will be provided at the beach. In the afternoon, will arrange returns to El Gran Roque. Dinner and overnight.
Day 10. Los Roques – Caracas (B)
Breakfast. Transfer to the runway to take the flight back to Caracas to make the international connection.
