Day 1: Bogota
Arrival in Bogota. Assistance at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight.
Day 2: Bogota (B)
Breakfast. Visit Bogotá, a Cosmopolitan and modern city that mixes its historical background with the modern era. Discover the historical center, the Bolivar Square, The Primada Cathedral, and the National Capitol. The Nariño Palace, the Gold Museum, and the Bolivar’s Maison. Overnight in Bogota.
Day 3. Salt Cathedral (B)
On this day you will take an excursion to the Salt Cathedral. This excursion conduce you to cross the Bogotá Plateau through the residential town of Zipaquira, where an underground salt cathedral is reached through a tunnel in the salt mine. Its altars and stations of the Cross are carved into the salt rock. Continue to the beautiful colonial town of the new Guatavita, built-in 1968 in the ancient style of the old Guatavita. Day 4: Bogota-Cartagena (B)
Transfer to the Airport, flight to Cartagena Visit this colonial city declared by UNESCO as Patrimony of Humanity. The privileged geographic position, the warmth and hospitality of its people, the streets and plazas with stone walls, and the historical and colonial monuments of the city give an unforgettable experience. Panoramic overview of the city. Overnight.
Day 5: Cartagena (B)
Breakfast. Day at leisure to discover walking the historical and colonial city of Cartagena. Overnight.
Day 6. Cartagena – Rosario Islands (BL)
Breakfast. On this day you will visit the Rosario Islands by boat the South of Cartagena Bay. These Islands are considered a National Natural Park with a complex coral bank populated with a great variety of reef life. Opportunity to swim and snorkel in beautiful crystalline waters. Lunch on the beach back to Cartagena. Overnight.
Day 7: Cartagena – Maracaibo (B)
Transfer to the Colombian Guajira. Transfer to the airport to flight to Maracaibo. Visit the Guajiros Multicolor Market and admire the landscape. Overnight in Maracaibo.
Day 8: Maracaibo-Caracas (B)
Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Caracas. Arrival at Maiquetia International Airport. Welcome and assistance at Caracas airport.
The vibrating Capital of Venezuela is situated in a green valley, at the base of the Avila Mountain at 950 meters of altitude. Panoramic visit of Caracas or Excursion to Caracas’ cable car, on your way you will have a wonderful sight of the city. Enjoy the splendorous view of the capital from Avila Mountain (Avila National Park).
This park protects the wildlife retreating from the growing city. From the altitude, this spectacular massif shows itself as a living natural History museum. Have a close look at the Humboldt Hotel, an architectural structure built at the highest point of the Mountain. Admire the view of the Caribbean Sea on one side and the City on the other. From this point, the altitude is approximately 2,850 Mts. Transfer to the Hotel and overnight in Caracas.
Day 9: Caracas-Maturín (BD)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to the Plains (Maturin City, 60 min flight from Caracas). Arrival, transfer to Boca de Uracoa port. Navigation to the lodge. After the installation, you will take a river excursion through the green forest of the Orinoco Delta.
Lunch. In the afternoon, take a walk inside the jungle to have a closer view of the variety of plants, many of them unique in the world such as the “Temiche” whose palms are used for the construction of Indigenous houses roofs; its fruit: the “coquito”, with drinkable water inside. We will also stop to fish the wild Piranha. Return to the camp. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 10. Orinoco Delta (BLD)
Breakfast. Excursion in the jungle to admire the local fauna: Monkeys, Parrots, Alligators, and butterflies, among others. Lunch. Visit the Warao Matriarcal Community. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 11. Puerto Ordaz - Canaima (BLD)
Breakfast. Transfer to Puerto Ordaz to take the flight to Canaima. This ancestral and magical place is a land of Tepuyes, enigmatic and sacred mountains of the Indigenous. Ride thru the Canaima Lagoon, facing the waterfalls formed by the Carrao River.
Walk in the jungle up until Sapo Falls, and pass under the water curtain formed by the river on its way down. Installation in a comfortable lodge in Canaima in front of the falls and in the shores of the Canaima lagoon. Dinner and Overnight.
Day 12: Canaima National Park- Caracas (B)
Breakfast. Free morning to make some additional excursions in Canaima or visit the Indian community or look at the Indian handcraft shops. You can take an optional excursion like the Angel Falls Overflight. Then transfer to the airport to take the charter flight to Puerto Ordaz and the flight to Caracas overnight.
Day 13: Caracas (B)
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take the flight back home.
