Moriche Demonstration by the Warao ethnicity
The Warao or “water people " are the richest source of indigenous handcrafted creations in Venezuela. They use the Moriches’ Palm or “Tree of life” as they call it to make traditional necklaces, baskets, hammocks, and so on, which helps them to increase contact with tourists.
In this excursion, you will have the opportunity to observe the elaboration process of all these handcrafted products while you listen to the Warao’s stories. If it is to your liking, you can buy some of these indigenous handicrafts and collaborate with the Warao community.
